Overview
The South Moravia 360 is a carefully designed 360 km circular cycling journey that begins and ends in Brno, offering a deep and unhurried introduction to one of Central Europe’s most underrated regions.
Over the course of seven days and seven nights, guests cycle through vineyard landscapes, UNESCO-listed cultural areas, historic market towns and quiet countryside, crossing briefly into Austria before returning to South Moravia. Along the way, the tour brings together nature, history, food, wine and everyday local life — not as highlights to rush between, but as experiences to slow down and connect with.
Daily distances are intentionally balanced to provide a rewarding sense of progression without being exhausting. The structure allows time to pause when something catches your attention — a viewpoint, a village square, a winery, or a café — while still enjoying the satisfaction of a full day in the saddle.
The tour is deliberately structured with no cycling on the arrival day, allowing guests to arrive in Brno, settle in, collect bikes and equipment, and begin the journey rested and prepared. Equally important, the experience does not end on the bike. After completing the final stage back to Brno, guests spend a final night in a hotel, giving time to rest, reflect, enjoy a relaxed evening in the city, and travel home the following day without pressure.
This full-circle approach — starting and finishing comfortably in Brno with accommodation included at both ends — removes unnecessary stress and ensures the journey feels complete from start to finish.
Accommodation locations during the tour may vary slightly depending on availability, but all overnight stays are carefully selected within the same local areas outlined below to preserve the character and flow of the journey.
Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Brno (No cycling)
Arrive in Brno and settle in. This day is reserved for arrival, rest and preparation. Guests collect bikes and any hired equipment, make final adjustments, and have time to explore the city at their own pace. Brno’s cafés, historic centre and relaxed atmosphere provide an ideal introduction to the region.
Day 2 — Brno to South Moravian wine country (Approx. 55 km)
The journey begins by leaving Brno on well-established cycling paths heading south. The urban landscape gradually gives way to open countryside, vineyards and wine villages. The day finishes in the heart of South Moravia’s wine region, setting the tone for the days ahead.
Day 3 — Into Austria (Approx. 60 km)
Cycling continues through vineyard landscapes before crossing the border into Austria. The route offers a gentle contrast in scenery and atmosphere while maintaining the same quiet, rural character. The day concludes in a traditional Austrian wine town.
Day 4 — Back to South Moravia via UNESCO landscapes (Approx. 50 km)
Re-enter South Moravia, passing through some of the region’s most culturally significant areas, including UNESCO-listed landscapes shaped by centuries of human and natural interaction. Châteaux, parks and historic villages define this day before reaching the evening stop.
Day 5 — Pálava Hills and Mikulov (Approx. 65 km)
A highlight day that brings together the limestone hills of Pálava, vineyard-covered slopes and one of South Moravia’s most iconic towns. The route balances gentle climbing with rewarding views and cultural stops, finishing in a traditional Moravian village.
Day 6 — Moravian Tuscany (Approx. 60 km)
Cycling through the rolling countryside often referred to as Moravian Tuscany, this day is defined by open landscapes, long vineyard rows and quiet roads. It is a reflective and visually striking stage, ending in another wine-focused village.
Day 7 — Return to Brno (Approx. 75 km)
The final cycling day completes the loop back to Brno. The route brings together familiar landscapes from earlier in the journey with new perspectives, offering a strong sense of completion. Guests spend their final night in Brno, with time to relax and reflect on the full circuit.

While elevation is a useful data point, how it feels on the bike varies greatly from rider to rider. Factors such as bike choice (manual or e-bike), individual fitness, pacing and even the time of day all influence how elevation is experienced. For this reason, we avoid using simplified difficulty labels and instead provide clear information so you can judge what suits you best.
On the South Moravia 360, riders can expect a total elevation gain of approximately 2,000 metres across the full 360 km route. This averages around 300–350 metres per day, however some days have more elevation than others. The most noticeable climbing occurs on Days 3, 5 and 7, while other stages are largely flat or gently rolling.
Overall, the route remains low-lying by cycling standards, with a maximum elevation of around 400 metres and long stretches of flat, well-surfaced cycling paths. The result is a journey that includes enough variation to stay interesting, without sustained or mountainous climbs.
